Nextstudio was founded to fill a perceived hole in the web development market, that of a business with a balanced drive for technical excellence in addition to design services. Our partnership of industry leading programmers bear the scars of the earliest days of web development, when NCSA Mosaic was the web browser to use, what would later be known as “Rich Internet Applications” were Java applets and Adobe Flash was still a little niche product called “FutureSplash Animator”.
Over the years the web has grown up, and so have we. Nextstudio has completed all manner of projects ranging from online presence for small businesses, custom product catalogues and shopping carts to news articles, stock control and payment gateway interfaces to major banks.
Our programmers have produced, customised and maintained online Content Management Systems and website applications for a huge range of organizations, small and large:
- a subscription based news, ratings and feature articles site for one of Australia’s top wine critics
- an online product catalogue for a family business importing Turkish textiles and furnishings
- stock and delivery management systems for Australia’s largest long-term, climate controlled wine cellarage provider
- product catalogues and online competitions for the Australian arm of an international distributor of fine cheeses
- vehicle dealership sites for a number of Melbourne based dealers, including acceptance of online vehicle and finance enquiries, integration with external providers of used vehicle stock listings, new vehicle statistics and technical data and online product and accessory sales
During the course of a few short years Nextstudio has formed a firm relationship with SuperActionGoTeam, Melbourne’s most exciting New Media Design collective. Nextstudio’s founding partners, James Macpherson and Thomas Kerr, are still able to play an active role in developing technically sound solutions to the needs of Australian businesses in addition to heading up the team.
